Description of spa facility: Natural healing Spa Piestany owes its reputation mainly to its unique natural springs of thermal mineral water that springs from a depth of 2000 meters, yielded some specific compounds and the energy of the earth's magma.
This water is the main factor in creating incomparable - curative sulfur mud. This is a special peloid which is the result of long-term response of thermal water with local soft rocks and specific bacterial microflora.
Thermal mineral water: it is ten springs with an average 1,500 mg of minerals in 1 l of mineral water. The water springs from the faults of about 2000 m depth, is trapped at a depth of 60 m, which guarantees a constant chemical composition and temperature. The temperature of the springs 67 to 69 ° C. It is moderately mineralized, sulphate, bicarbonate, calcium, sodium, sulfur, hot water. It is used mainly for tourism, but also for drinking cure.
The most important component for the treatment of musculoskeletal diseases is high sulfur content (from 6 to 10 mg / l), which occurs in water in different forms and chemical compounds (sulphates, sulphites, sulphides). What is important is the high content of hydrogen sulfide - an average of 4.7 mg per liter of water.
Thermal mineral water is mechanically hydrostatic pressure and buoyancy, thus facilitating movement by reducing the effect of gravity, but also helps improve blood circulation and lymph. The water pressure acts as a bandage, which makes exercise and movement in the water. Physical effects of thermal mineral water is the hyperthermic response of the organism. This reaction involves the nervous, cardiovascular, respiratory and endocrine systems, but also the immune system. What is important is the chemical effect of sulfur water (penetration of sulfur substances during and after the bath) from the skin to deeper tissues, where they bind in the form of chondroitin sulphate and hyaluronic acid suppress activity. Sulfur also improve rekrvenie, removes dead skin cells, helps to restore skin and has antibacterial effects.
Piešťany sulphurous mud: Sulfur peloid mud is unique in Europe and worldwide. Its base is generated in the sediments pass branch of the river Vah at the sulfur springs of thermal mineral water.
The balneological mud is prepared using original technology, which causes it to mature and regenerate with numerous chemical and biological reactions. Mature mud is steel blue to black, has a butter, greasy consistency, good heat conductive, it cools down four times faster than water, which has over 350x higher viscosity. Wraps mud of Piestany act on cartilage nutrition on bone mineral changes, the joint capsule and the muscles and tendons.
