Description of spa facility: Natural healing resources: The Piešťany Spa owes its reputation primarily to the unique natural spring of thermal mineral water, which springs from a depth of 2000 meters, brings out some specific compounds and the energy of the earth's magma.
This water is also a major factor in the formation of an inimitable local product - medicinal sulfur mud. It is a special peloid, the composition of which is the result of a long-term reaction of thermal water with local soft rocks and specific bacterial microflora.
Piešťany thermal mineral water: these are ten springs with an average content of 1,500 mg of minerals per 1 l of mineral water. The water springs from tectonic faults from a depth of about 2000 meters, it is captured at a depth of 60 m, which guarantees its constant chemical composition and temperature. The temperature of the springs is 67 to 69 ° C. It is moderately mineralized, sulphate-bicarbonate, calcium-sodium, sulfur, hot water. It is used mainly for spas, but also for drinking cures.
Thermal mineral water acts mechanically by hydrostatic pressure and buoyancy, thus facilitating movement due to the reduced effect of gravity, but also helps to improve blood and lymph circulation.
Piešťany sulfur mud: Sulfur mud is a unique peloid on a European and world scale. Its essence is sediments formed in the bypass arm of the river Váh in the place of springs of sulfur thermal mineral water.
Indications for spa treatment: Piešťany Spa specializes in the treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system, ie bones, joints, muscles and connective tissues, as well as central and peripheral nerves, without which it is not possible to control motor functions. The main goal of our medical procedures is primarily the restoration of complex locomotor functions of the musculoskeletal system.
